Commercial businesses receive the best incentives from installing solar on their buildings - currently, $1.90 a watt, a 30% federal tax and five year accelerated depreciation. California Solar Initiative incentives, combined with federal tax incentives, can cover up to 70 percent of the total cost of a solar system.
